Mirror Blade FAQ

Keep a few things in mind. Each machine is different, check to see how tight your playfield fits. These will make the fit more snug, but they are made of the thinnest possible material that can be sourced. Install these at the END of a restore job - not the beginning. Do not raise your playfield up and down more than is necessary, and when you do raise it carefully, slowly and centered to avoid causing surface scratches. Even if this happens, they are barely noticeable on this material, and far outweigh the alternative look of the factory black wood scratched out showing a different color underneath the black paint. You can also apply a thin felt strip to the sides of your playfield.

Also, once a year if you get some scratches - you can take a small buffing wheel on the end of your cordless drill and just buff them out! Not like ripped and torn decals! These make a HUGE difference in the overall enjoyment and experience of your machine, and even if they fit a little snug they are well worth it. They install with provided tiny wood screws that run along the bottom and super thin strips of double sided adhesive tape. These are so thin the holes for the screws cannot be completely recessed, and the head of the screws stick out a tiny bit. In some cases this might also get in the way when you raise and lower the playfield. In this case, you can only use some of the screws and just the adhesive tape, or not even use the screws at all. The Wms / Bally ones have a hole in the rear that the hinge bolt installs through and this also completely supports the back. They also come with quick and easy tips and instructions.
